ACADEMICS

Developing Strong Minds for Christ's Service

 

Dallas Christian Academy is committed to engaging students' minds and preparing students' hearts to live meaningful lives of Christ-centered service. Every aspect of school life reflects this mission. DCA provides an atmosphere that values diversity and supports social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development. Students learn through guided instruction, exploration and shared experience. 

 

Our strong, integrated curriculum provides students with daily challenges and weaves together traditional subjects with modern best practice. Targeted use of tools such as iPads, Kindles, ChromeBooks, and MacBooks provides our students with the skills they need in order to be successful in an increasingly technological world. Community gardening and outdoor education programs connect them to the wonder of God's creation. Our academic, fine arts, and athletic programs are balanced by intentionally designed leadership programs that empower our students to become compassionate and humble leaders, secure in the knowledge that they are "God's chosen people, holy and dearly loved." (Col. 3:12)

 

Accreditation

Dallas Christian Academy is accredited by the Accrediting Association of Seventh-day Adventist Schools, and is a recognized member of the National Council for Private School Accreditation and the Texas Private School Accreditation Commission and the Texas Education Agency.

Athletics

Dallas Christian Academy is dedicated to developing each player’s athletic skill while upholding the values of Christian character. A strong emphasis is placed on teamwork and personal integrity.

 

DCA students are able to participate in a variety of competitive high school and junior high sports through the Texas Christian Athletic Fellowship (TCAF). Elementary students compete through TCAF's sister organization, the Christian School Athletic Fellowship (CSAF).

The Arts

Dallas Christian Academy students are encouraged to express themselves and their faith through a variety of creative and performance arts.

PERFORMING ARTS

ART & DESIGN

Dallas Christian Academy encourages students to develop an understanding of a variety of media and techniques for use in creative and artistic expression.

 

Some of the stills that are emphasized in the arts program include:

  • video editing

  • photoshop

MUSIC PROGRAM

The goal of the DCA music program is to give students a fundamental understanding of music and foster a connection with God through creative exploration of music.

 

Dallas Christian Academy offers students the opportunity to participate in:

  • choir

  • bell choir

  • private piano lessons
